Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the LiveTranslate application for macOS and iOS ("the App") handles information. LiveTranslate is made by Sacha Allard, an individual developer based in Qatar ("we", "us"). LiveTranslate has no advertising or cross-app tracking. You can process speech with free on-device models or, when you choose LiveTranslate Cloud, send audio for cloud processing. Your meeting library may also sync through your private iCloud account when iCloud is available on your device.

1. On-device processing

When you select on-device processing, speech recognition, translation, and supported summaries run locally. Meeting audio and text are not sent to the LiveTranslate Cloud proxy for AI processing in this mode.

2. LiveTranslate Cloud and what is sent

LiveTranslate Cloud is an optional processing mode available through an eligible trial or paid plan. You choose the processing mode during setup or in Settings and can return to on-device processing when supported by your device.

When Cloud is selected, the App sends the audio needed for the requested meeting or dictation feature to a LiveTranslate proxy operated on Cloudflare. The proxy may relay it to configured service providers, including:

The results are returned to the App. The proxy meters usage to apply trial, subscription, and refill allowances. It does not intentionally retain meeting or dictation audio after the request is processed. We do not use the content to advertise or to train our own models.

Each provider processes the data it receives under its own terms and privacy policy. Provider availability and routing can change as we improve reliability, but we will keep this policy updated when the categories of processing or providers materially change.

3. Purchases, account identifiers, and metering

Apple handles subscriptions and refill purchases through In-App Purchase. We do not receive or store payment-card details. To verify access and apply usage allowances, the proxy processes Apple's signed transaction information, a pseudonymous subscription account identifier, plan and trial state, minute reservations, debits, refills, and related audit records.

We use this information only to provide the cloud service, prevent duplicate credit or usage, investigate billing problems, and operate the service. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

4. Device storage and private iCloud sync

The App stores meetings, recordings, transcripts, translations, summaries, bookmarks, folders, commitments, glossary entries, speaker profiles, and preferences on your device. When iCloud is available for the App, SwiftData and CloudKit may sync the meeting library—including backed-up recording bytes—to your private iCloud database so it can appear on your other devices and survive a reinstall.

This iCloud copy is operated by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's terms. Deleting the App removes its local data from that device, but does not necessarily delete data already synced to iCloud or stored on another device. Use the App's delete controls and your iCloud settings to manage those copies.

You can also export or share information using system share controls. If you explicitly connect AIOS or another compatible webhook, finished-meeting data is sent to the server you configured; that destination's operator controls its retention and use.

5. Permissions and why we ask for them

6. Diagnostics and support

The launch build does not register an automatic crash-reporting or product-analytics client and does not automatically send crash or hang diagnostics to the LiveTranslate proxy. Apple may separately receive diagnostics when you have chosen to share analytics with Apple; Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

If you choose Feedback & Ideas and press Send feedback, the App sends the topic, the text you entered, App version and build, operating-system version, platform, and a random submission identifier to the LiveTranslate proxy. The submission is not linked to your Apple Account, iCloud identity, subscription account, meeting library, or advertising identity. No recording, transcript, screenshot, clipboard content, or diagnostic file is attached automatically. Do not include meeting content or other personal information unless you intentionally want us to examine it for support.

You can instead choose Continue in Mail. In that case, your mail app opens a draft and nothing is sent until you review and send the email yourself. Email necessarily includes the sender information your mail provider supplies.

7. No advertising or cross-app tracking

The App contains no advertising SDK and does not track you across apps or websites. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Operational metering is used to provide and protect LiveTranslate Cloud, not for advertising.

8. Retention

9. Your choices and rights

You can select on-device processing, disconnect AIOS, delete meetings and recordings in the App, manage iCloud in system settings, and manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple. For questions about information processed by LiveTranslate, to ask us to delete a feedback submission using its receipt identifier, or to exercise applicable privacy rights, contact us below.

10. Children

LiveTranslate is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the applicable jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App and its providers change. We will revise the effective date and make material changes reasonably prominent.
